Biscuit Pattern

I have created another pattern using biscuits; I try to keep my designs quite simple, because they can be quite colourful and busy. I wanted it to be quite playful, so I changed the sizes and positions of various biscuits to keep it exciting. I'm quite happy with it, however I was struggling to decided on whether or not to keep the background white; I didn't want to take too much attention away from the design, and I didn't want it to over power the illustrations.

I am attracted to very simple & colourful graphic illustrations; and this influences my own work a lot. I really like Goran (Marco Romano)'s work, because it's really eye catching and memorable. He's also very good at choosing colour schemes, and knows what works well together.

Laura is an artist who transfers detailed pencil illustrations onto various ceramics, such as; dinner plates, mugs, vessels & bowls; she also uses textile materials like tea towels & pillows. She focuses a lot on more natural sources like animals, insects & plants; her drawings are very delicate, and this compliments the subject. She also creates very beautiful patterns for products like her serving dishes.
